The problem

Discharge instructions are written for clinicians. Recovery happens at home.

When someone you love comes home from surgery, they hand you a stack of papers. Pages of instructions — medications with different schedules, wound care protocols, activity restrictions, follow-up appointments. All of it important. None of it organized.

You're exhausted. You're scared. And you're supposed to hold all of it together.

Tend was built for that moment — by a caregiver who lived it.

How it works

Three steps from paperwork to plan.

01
Photograph or upload the paperwork

Take a photo of the discharge documents or upload a PDF. Tend accepts the messy, real-world versions hospitals actually send home.

02
Tend parses it with AI

Tend reads through the instructions and pulls out what matters — medications, schedules, wound care, restrictions, follow-ups — and structures it clearly.

03
Follow the schedule with confidence

Everything in one place, organized and readable. No more cross-referencing pages at midnight to make sure you haven't missed something important.

Health information deserves to be treated with care.

Tend is built privacy-first — not as a feature, but as a foundation. Your family's health information belongs to you.

Built by a caregiver who couldn't find the tool he needed.

At the beginning of 2026, Eugene Aiken found himself supporting three family members through major surgeries at the same time. As a data engineer with ADHD, the cognitive load of managing complex care instructions across three recoveries simultaneously wasn't just stressful — missing something had real consequences.

He looked for an app that could help organize it all. It didn't exist. So he taught himself Swift and built one.

Tend is the tool he needed then. It's free because every caregiver deserves access to it — regardless of their resources, their technical ability, or how many hard days they've already had.
